Giacomo Rojas Elgueta è Professore associato di Diritto privato presso il Dipartimento di Giurisprudenza dell’Università di Roma Tre e dal 2018 è abilitato alle funzioni di Professore ordinario di Diritto comparato. Nel 2008 ha ottenuto un LLM con lode presso la University of Pennsylvania Law School, dove nel 2014 ha altresì conseguito il titolo di SJD (Dottorato). È socio fondatore dello Studio Legale D|R Arbitration & Litigation e Co-direttore del Certificate in International Commercial and Investment Arbitration. È inoltre Co-editor del progetto di ricerca “Does a Right to a Physical Hearing Exist in International Arbitration?” patrocinato da ICCA. Il Prof. Rojas Elgueta si occupa prevalentemente di contenzioso civile e societario e di procedure arbitrali per clienti italiani e internazionali. Ricopre regolarmente il ruolo di arbitro in arbitrati domestici ed internazionali, ad hoc e amministrati, con sede in diverse giurisdizioni tra cui Italia, Svizzera e Svezia. È stato nominato expert witness sul diritto italiano dalla Repubblica Italiana in tre arbitrati d’investimenti retti dai regolamenti dell’ICSID e della SCC, ed ha agito come expert witness sul diritto italiano in contenziosi davanti a corti statali e federali negli Stati Uniti. Il Prof. Rojas Elgueta è ammesso al foro di Roma (2004) e a quello dello Stato di New York (2010) e dal 2018 è abilitato al patrocinio presso le corti superiori. È membro del Consiglio dell’Associazione Italiana per l’Arbitrato (AIA) e Coordinatore del Focus Group su “Appalto e costruzioni” in seno alla medesima associazione. Dal 2016 al 2018 è stato Co-chair dell’Italian Forum for Arbitration and ADR (ArbIt).

Giacomo Rojas Elgueta is Associate Professor of Private Law at Roma Tre University School of Law (Rome, Italy). Since 2018 he is also licensed as Full Professor of Comparative Law. In 2008 he received an LLM with distinction from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where in 2014 he also earned an SJD degree (Doctor of Juridical Science). He is a founding partner of D|R Arbitration & Litigation and Co-director of the Certificate in International Commercial and Investment Arbitration. Also, he is a Co-editor of the ICCA research project “Does a Right to a Physical Hearing Exist in International Arbitration?”. Prof. Rojas Elgueta specializes in commercial and investment arbitration and complex litigation, representing domestic and foreign clients in a wide range of corporate and commercial disputes. He regularly acts as sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator in domestic and international arbitration proceedings, both ad hoc and institutional, with seat in different countries including Italy, Switzerland and Sweden. He has been appointed by the Italian Republic as expert witness in three investment arbitration proceedings under the rules of ICSID and SCC, and he has acted as expert witness on Italian law before U.S. state and federal courts. He is admitted to the Rome, Italy (2004) and New York Bar (2010) and has been admitted to the Italian Supreme Court since 2018. He is a member of the Executive Board of the Italian Association for Arbitration (AIA) and coordinator of the AIA Focus Group on “Construction Arbitration”. From 2016 to 2018 he was Co-chair of the Italian Forum for Arbitration and ADR (ArbIt).
